It's happening!

The Walk and Roll-a-Thon is right around the corner! It will be a little different this year, but equally as awesome! This is a big fundraiser and community builder and we hope all families can be involved.

WHAT: GLES Walk and Roll-a-Thon Dragon Hunt

WHEN: Monday October 5- Sunday October 11, with a kick off where students can pick up their t shirt and info packet on Saturday October 3.

HOW: With a spirit of adventure, fun and safety!

Each student will receive one printed and named dragon. They will decorate that dragon and hang in a visible place in the GLES boundary OR along the Green Lake walking path. This could be on a utility pole, on your dog (during walks, of course), in your window or anywhere that is appropriate and can be spotted by passersby.

Starting Oct. 5, students can run, saunter, jog, walk or use their wheelchair to hunt as many dragons as they can! We ask in the spirit of sportspersonship that they don't use a horse, a car or their bike/scooter. We also ask that they don't go out in groups of more than their family, wear a mask, and wave hello to others they pass at a distance of 6 feet or more on their quest.

WHY: To promote health, community and to raise money for the amazing GLES PTA. The PTA supports enrichment programs, supplemental staff and instructional assistance, among MANY other things.

Supporters of our school can sponsor a student with a donation per dragon recorded or you can donate a flat amount.

Thank you for supporting our school and our children!

Happy Dragon Hunting!
